Whether you're coming for the day or staying the night, Vashon has excellent options for food and drink.

Our little island can be quite hopping so we recommend making reservations whenever possible!

The Ruby Brink is a bar & butcher shop on Vashon Island whose values align with tradition, agriculture and craft. Equally a public house for gathering as a destination for casually spectacular food and beverages. The Ruby Brink will focus on whole animal butchery, thoughtful sourcing of all ingredients, preservation & curing in the kitchen and comfortably exciting cocktails, cider, wine & beer.

Nearly a decade and a half ago, Melinda Powers peered through the expansive windows of the oldest commercial building on Vashon Island and where others might have seen only the empty shell of a beloved old hardware store, she saw a restaurant. Perfectly prepared and gracefully presented, the ingredients locally-sourced, organic and all-natural, hormone-free, and in many cases gluten-free — and would do so from breakfast through dinner, seven days a week.  A Vashon staple, this restaurant offers options for everyone.

From the outside, May Kitchen & Bar is unremarkable to say the least.  Except for the small unlit sign in Thai above the doorway, one might mistake it for an old curtained thrift shop that never seems to be open. Inside, May Kitchen & Bar is absolutely lovely. The walls glow with carved teak and mahogany panels, which were imported from a 150-year-old house in Thailand. The smell of jasmine rice wafts in the air. According to The Stranger Magazine, to get the best Thai food in Seattle, you have to take a ferry to Vashon Island.

Adam Cone and Megan Hastings are the creative minds behind the exceptional vegetarian cuisine and rustic pastries. Here you can also find Home Sweet Home bar, a favorite hangout for locals and island visitors. You’ll love the friendly atmosphere, delicious food, music and great times throughout the year.

Gravy has American food with Southern and French influences.  It is helmed by the husband and wife team of Dre Neeley and Pepa Brower. Each bring their passion to the front of house and kitchen respectively. After years honing their skills and learning from other successful restaurateurs, they are excited to put their unique stamp on Gravy in the heart of Vashon.

Bramble House was opened with the premise that delicious food in a simple, sophisticated environment is the key to a happy life.  They are centered on seasonally-inspired dishes from local growers, producers, farmers whenever possible, beverages that compliment the meal and friendly, yet efficient service.

Pure Cafe is a wholesome menu serving everything from vegan soups and wheatgrass shots to quinoa bowls and gluten-free sandwiches. It's quintessential "hippie" food--the kind vegetarians like me love for its wholesome simplicity, and the kind,  Whether you're a hunter or a gatherer, there's definitely a place--albeit a small one--for this cute and tiny walk up window bistro just off Vashon Highway.
